North Korea and Diplomatic Solutions; Random Thoughts Part I

You know now that North Korea is backing down on their nuclear ambitions we seem to have a problem with the 8 nuclear weapons already created that no one wishes to address. In studying the reports and having thoughts on this matter; it seems we might still end up in a war over these issues. Should we use warfare to serve our political will and if we try we should do so in a cost conscious manner. Here are some thoughts on winning a military victory against North Korea to serve our political forthwith. First it would appear we have many allies in the region, including some from not so far away. Pakistan a potential partner in the over taking of the government is just iching to flex it's perceived military might and make friends with us after we got upset at the non capture of Osama Bin Laden and kind of asked about why he might have hidden briefly in Pakistan. One CIA man has potentially targeted Pakistan as aiding and giving comfort to our enemy there? But Pakistan also wants some F-16s and of course we want them to buy such aircraft from us. Meanwhile the Israelis see China as a good market to sell the latest warfare technologies? But who might China be looking at as it builds up its forces, it has no enemies that large? Or does it; as in the United States?

The General What's His Name may actually be able to get the world to allow Pakistan some allied support and a permanent seat on the UN security council? China also has a disputed border with North Korea. 21 mile piece of boarder with China in the Paektu-san (mountain) region is an indefinite; Demarcation Line with South Korea. South Korea is also our friends and we have been friends long enough to expect a world of help. They more than anyone want to see the North Koreans out of power and the people free. Japan hopefully will not play a French stonewall; Philippines are our allies too, very much so. Tony Blair visited Hong Kong, Hmmm? We have many more countries on board than you think and a lot more than the Iraq deal and all those nine countries our best friends have some support no matter how small on the ground;for instance countries with very small armies. Canada only has 8,000 people in their whole military, and has three times the border length as the US with 2 million military personal, without counting merchant marines, Corporate Power Houses and other personal directly involved in winning our political will. Any boarder attack or exchange of power is an act of war when it falls on our allies and we have already seen this plus the attempt to hijack a US Spy plane and perhaps leverage the hostages, flight crew for negotiating power.

North Korea runs like a very centralized corporation of the pre-1970s in the US. Due to their politics and protectionism they have inhibited trading partners and become self encapsulated as far as an economic theory; some due to the US and neighboring enemies, mostly due to stubbornness and control of their people from outside intervention. This has crippled them severely and hurt their economy badly; less than 1% growth. Other issues have also hurt them such as food shortages bad weather, droughts and floods. There problems with equipment and farm machinery and automobiles suffer from bad logistics and isolationism affecting everything similar to Cuba but worse. Speaking of Cuba, when does Castro get to take a swim? There have been over a decade of food shortages there due to the same droughts that we faced recently in Kansas, Colorado, NM, MT, NV, and AZ, and also other countries suffered such as Austrailia and the reason China is building huge reservoirs.

Droughts are a big deal, droughts lead to fires. Fires are a big weapon if we choose to use it. A small series of fires strategically placed or even hot air ballooned in like thee Japanese in WWII to the pacific coastline of the US, now we can airborne launch UAVs out the back of a C-17, C-5, C-130 or C-141. Each one could fly several hundred miles and when it crashes starts a fire. And like most armies they must move on their stomachs and the machines on their fuel. Still North Korea has another problem not enough fuel. Thus perhaps they think Nuclear Weapons are a good deterrent, think again. You cannot negotiate with International Terrorists who build weapons of Mass Destruction. Osai and Hyundai or what ever his name was need their heads on stakes outside the streets of Baghdad as a sign to the world the you must not play games just because the world has been working towards a better and more just period in our human evolution, it is a viable idea and concept to put those heads on stakes and let all see them. That is not as barbaric as it sounds, it sends a good message to others, do not go there. It will also enlighten the North Koreans and Castro to stop the game playing or face the same.

Even with shortages of this magnitude including energy, the current regime has no intentions of trading their power and opening up to allow for more production. It will sacrifice its people and future generations for continuing its own power base. This is a closely run dictatorship regime, which will do whatever it takes to keep control, similar to Saddam, but more entrenched and their loyal military has been for many years willing to fight and die for this power base. They may have too at the hand of our sword. Aid in the form of food and other things have slowed due to the regimes relentless control freak attitude. Luckily there purchasing power is not sufficient enough to beat us and our allies, but they can afford to buy military weaponry from rogue nations especially after the end of the drought in 2001, they could trade food for weapons, and continue to starve the people.

They can purchase about 25 billion or so per year if they spent all of it on weapons and they would if they had too and they may. I cannot imagine any country selling weapons to them now. Their gross domestic product is growing but very little let's say 2.2% estimated. Ag and industry account for about 50% of it. Up until 2001 with the decade of drought and weather problems the Ag issues were very grim. Fighting an enemy in a limited war with no fuel and no food means moral is low and they in their minds are already defeated but like the US Marines they train their army to believe they are already dead and dying for your national pride is considered a worthy use of ones life in North Korea and those little gremlins are ruthless and crazy and so therefore any war must be fast and dominating and equally intense. The heart of that type of enemy is not easily ripped out. The do somewhat hold similar beliefs in combat as those of Japan Imperialism in WWII or in the studies in the Art of War.
